The ThunderstorÖ XR48 Rackmount is specifically designed to bring you a powerful combination of a Quad PCIe and an 8-bay storage expandability for your Mac« using ThunderboltÖ 2 connectivity. The ThunderstorÖ XR48 Rackmount ThunderboltÖ chassis includes a Quad (4) PCIe expansion slots and eight (8) Small Form Factor (SFF) 2.5" hot-swap storage bays. The ultra-fast storage subsystem is driven by an internal ATTO 6Gb SAS RAID Controller which provides RAID 01456 user selectable settings via the supplied browser-based GUI. The XR48 Rackmount model is an Intel-Certified product featuring four x16 (mechanically x4 electrically) PCIe expansion slots and quad 20Gbps Thunderbolt-2 I/O ports so other compatible Thunderbolt products may be daisy-chained for the maximum connection flexibility. The ThunderstorÖ XR48 utilizes the ATTO SAS RAID controller which occupies one of the PCIe slots. The performance is exceptionally fast for any professional user utilizing SSD or HDD drives. The XR48 is made in USA and TAA compliant it also includes an internal forced air cooling and is powered by an internal 460 Watt power supply. The Rocstor Thunderstor XR48 has been designed developed and tested to meet your needs of PCIe and Storage expandability needs by delivering state-of the art full-bandwidth PCIe slots using two independent ThunderboltÖ 20Gbps bridge circuits. One ThunderboltÖ Bridge drives two of the PCIe slots and the second internal ThunderboltÖ bridge drives the other two PCIe slots. The XR48 advance technology is differentiated from any competition by offering this two independent Thunderbolt Bridge technology. For its unprecedented expansion and storage speeds connect the XR48 to the Mac« Pro host computer using two of the four available Thunderbolt ports on the chassis and then use the third or fourth available ports for expansion or daisy-chain of other Thunderbolt devices. The XR48 supports all compatible PCIe cards up to full-height and full-length peripherals. It provides extra DC power connections for GPUs requiring those additional connections. The advance architectural design of ThunderstorÖ XR48 enhances operating bandwidth for demanding applications that utilizes all the 20Gbps bandwidth available from each Thunderbolt port. The XR48 with its internal hardware ATTO (SAS) RAID controller and eight RAID drives (rotating or SSD) can operate at "full speed" up to (1200+ MB/s transfer rates) using one bus while other demanding peripherals can operate at full speed using the other bus. Using popular SFF SSDs in the RAID easily provides sustained data transfer speeds of up to or greater than 1200 MB/s for "working" files.
